Steps for setting up Belkin WiFi range extender:

  • Pre-requisites for setup:

  • You must have a Belkin range extender.
  • An already setup wireless network along with the details of network name and passkey. Kindly check if you have a dual band router then try to secure your SSID as well as WiFi passwords for both the network bands labeled as 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
  • A wireless network supporting device. It can be any of the computers, smart phones, tablets, etc.
  • Connect your belkin range extender to any of the power outlets that is placed within the range of your pre-existing WiFi network.
  • Open any of your wireless network supporting devices and try to search and get connected with Belkin.Setup N300 network.
  • In case you are unable to locate the network named as Belkin.setup then try to restart your Belkin range extender. You can do this by simply holding down the reset button on your range extender for a minimum of 10 seconds.
  • Wait for your WiFi extender to come back online again. Once it’s back online try again to connect with Belkin.setup network.
  • If it shows connecting to the network then wait until the connection becomes stable.
  • Once, it gets connected with the network visit http://belkin.range through any of the web browsers on your WiFi supporting devices. In case you wish to view the web-based setup for your WiFi extender then type http://192.168.206.1 as a URL in your web browser and press enter or go.
  • After the setup page opens, click on the option to “Get Started.” It will now try locating your router’s SSID.
  • Choose any of the wireless networks whose range needs to be extended. After selecting the corresponding WiFi network click on the option for “Next” and wait till it gets connected. In case you are unable to locate the WiFi network then click on “Refresh” to view the updated list of available wireless networks.
  • In case, you encounter a dialog box asking for your network password then enter the authentication details linked to that network and click on “Next.” Wait till the system verifies network authentication details.

Soon as the details get verified the range of that selected network will get extended. This set up procedure was for single band network but in case you wish to extend the range of dual band network, then try to repeat the whole procedure once again. The range for your dual band network will also be extended by following same steps.

Kindly remember that in case of single band Belkin range extenders only 2.4 GHz band will be detected.
